One of the topic that
usually discussed within webmasters community is web site optimization.
Website optimization is very important because it will make a website more
user friendly and also search engine friendly. Website optimization also will
help a website to be indexed by search engine easier and it may able to make
the website get better position in the search ranking.
Website optimization will help to make our website better, but it is not
everything. We also need to have good content in our website and make our
website more valuable, therefore it can serve the purpose of our client, the
visitor.
There are many professional out there that give website optimization service
to webmasters. The charge is vary from one to another and also depend on how
much they have to optimize the website. Normally, webmaster use this
professional service to get better ranking in the search engine and of course
to get more visitor. Why
we should optimized our website 1.
Optimized website to be more user friendly
user friendly website will make the visitor navigate the website easier and
they able to find the information that they search faster. This will encourage
repeated visitor and of course is very good for the website. 2.
Optimized website to get indexed by search engine faster.
The search engine robots will normally index (visit) a website few day after
the webmaster submit the website to the search engine data based. From my
experience, sometimes it take up to months before search engine list the site
into their database. However, a well optimization website will be include in
the search engine data based faster compared to a website that is not search
engine friendly. 3.
Optimization can help a website to get better ranking in search engine.
A well optimization website normally will have better position or ranking in
search engine. Some website even use unethical optimization to get better
position. This have lead some search engine to ban this site. As discuss
earlier, sole optimization is not the key to get better position. The website
also should have lots and good content to get better position in search engine
ranking. 4.
Optimize website can attract more visitor.
I have read some where that sometimes there is no different for the first or
the second or the third position as long as it listed in the same page. The
visitor may not click the first or the second but may choose to click to the
third site. Well, I do this all the time and I believed others will do this
too! For example, I will click on the site that had the ‘headline’ that
interest me most and it is not necessary in the first position of the search
engine ranking.
Since website optimization can be costly and if we are just the beginner
without lots of money to spend. By the way the main purpose of this site is
about money management right? :-) We might choose to do the simple website
optimization by our self . This technique might not be as effective as service
provided by the professional website optimizer, but at least it can help to
save some money and I personally found that it work for me. How

Title tag
Title tag if each page is very important to the website. Title if the page
should tally with the content of the page and it also should have word or term
that is normally search by the surfer to search for the topic. Title tag will
make the first impression of our potential visitor. This is because the
visitor will see the page title in the search engine list. For example, a
website with title “optimization” is better than a website with have title
“page 1”. One more example is a website with title “How to
optimized a website” might be better than just “optimization”. However,
we must also bear in mind that the title must also tally with the content. For
example if our content is a list of site or professional website optimization,
it is better if the title of the page is “where to look for website
optimization service rather than “how to optimize your website” 2.
meta tag
meta tag is the description that is not see by the visitor. It is only useful
to the search engine robots. It is like the summary if the web page. There are
many type of meta tag that is normally use. I found that the most frequent use
meta tag is “description meta tag”, “key word meta tag” and ‘robots
meta tag”. The
different type of the meta tag is similar to each other but the function is
different. Description meta tag is to describe the content if the page, where
if we have write good article, the description meta tag is only few sentence
of the first or second paragraph. For example the description meta tag if this

word meta tag is similar to the description meta tag. It serve the purpose of
telling the search engine which word or term that the visitor should search
for this web page . actually there are many site that give free service of
generating keyword for our website. I found that normally they will just
analyzed our web site, search for most repeated word and pick the most

content of the website
content of the web site is also very important in optimization a website. If
possible, try to make the content of the website simple and easy to
understand. We may able to do this by describe the website content in their
first or second paragraph. At least it can attract the visitor to read more
and it also will help the visitor to emphasize whether it is worth his time to
serf and continue to read the whole page.
The content also mist be useful to the visitor. I mean if the visitor come in
to look for information, than our site should be able to provide the
information that he need. (by the way, me may not able to serve every demand
of the visitor, therefore we should focus our page to only one topic.) 4.
Make our page easy to navigate.
I believed that optimization a website also include making our website easy to
navigate. We should not letting the visitor to spend extra time and effort to
navigate our website. Lots of graphic button may look cool in our eyes but
some visitor may not know that it is a link to another page. Therefore, I will
prefer and also recommend to use word or description instead for a link. This
method will also make our site look cleaner. 5.
Avoid unnecessary graphic
Unnecessary graphic as ‘intro’ to our website should be avoided to get the
best outcome of our web site. Unnecessary graphic also will make the page
bigger (in byte) and it may affect the loading time of our web site. In the
internet era, many people will avoid page that take time to load. The visitor
may change to another site if they have to wait for long ting to see our site. 6.
Keep the website small.
One of the optimization technique is by keeping our website small as possible.
I found many article about website optimization that recommend a website page
to be not more than 25 kilobyte. 7.
Use simple design for the website.
Many website optimizer recommend to use simple design, and preferably with
white or light colour back ground. This is because a black font with
white back ground is the easiest way to read. Black back ground, with white
font will look cool but it is more difficult to read and not many people that
like it. The font size also should not too small and must be easy to read.
The technique that I describe above may work or may not work with your website
concept. You may use some of this technique or you may also want to modify
some of the technique to suit your need. For me personally, I am happy with
