Guide to Submit Your Website To Search Engine With Better Result 

Search engine is one of the best source to attract more traffic. Normally visitor from search engine is mostly the quality visitor, I mean visitor that interest in the topic of our website. 

When submit a website to search engine, the search engine will send their robots to crawl our website. For the earlier stage, the robots is just to make sure that our site is exist. Later, the robots will come again and will analyses our site. They will identified our site into which category and what search term or keyword that surfer or visitor should  use to find our site.   

Some search engine will ask webmaster to input email address, name and some other information during submission process before they accept the submission. While some other search engine will ask the webmaster to reconfirm the information by replying the email that they send. I believed that this is to make sure that the site that we send is a quality site. 

For a website to be included into search engine database, it take some time. The time may different between one page to another and not all website that we send will be accepted by the search engine to be part of their database. From my personal experience, it take about 30 days to 90 days or longer for a site to be included into search engine database. 

There are also some search engine that is not accepting any submission. This type of search engine rely solely on their robots to crawl a page by each link in the internet.

How to submit a website with better and faster inclusion.

  Based on my experience with my website, I found that there were some ways to be included in search engine database faster an of course without spending any money to do it. Here are some of the technique:

  1. Optimize the website before submit.

            Before submit a website to search engine, optimized the website to be a search engine friendly website. Adjust your website properly and make your website easy to crawl for search engine robots. You can refer to guide to optimized website regarding the technique.

2. Submit after the website reach 20 good content page.

            You should create good website and your website should have minimum of 20 quality content before submitting to get the best result. The more page the better. This is because search engine normally want a quality website into their database. I believed that it is their survival also, if they unable to provide quality result to the surfer, later the surfer will switch to other search engine.

3. Build a Sitemap if your site is large

            During the first few months I found that search engine robots will only index the first page of the website and it take some time for them to list all page into their database (if they do). Before we submit our website, we may choose to have a sitemap which have a link to all page on our website. Therefore, whenever a search engine index (crawl) this sitemap page, they may follow all link and later will crawl all page in the website. The process will take shorter time and it is good for both the search engine and the website.

4. Exchange link with quality and related site only.

            I found that exchange link will likely to put our site into their site database faster. This is because some of the robots will crawl the quality site more frequent and the robots tent to follow the link and found our site faster. However, you must beware not to exchange link with non quality website or non related website because it will damage your site reputation in the eye of the visitor and also search engine.

5. Submit to small search engine too.

            Small search engine will take faster time to process and will include our website to their database faster. I found that some of the small search engine will take only one to two day to process and include our site into their database. While for big search engine it take months to do that. One more point that I like about this is that if our site content is unique and good quality, this method will make our site appear in big search engine like Google in the matter of days. This is because google robots will also crawl result of small search engine and if they unable to find what the visitor look for in their own database, they might ‘borrow’ it from the small search engine.

6. Is it necessary to use pay submission?

            Some search engine can process and crawl a site in very short time if we agree to pay for the urgent submission. I think this is about personal preference and it depend on the fund or budget available from the webmaster. For me personally, I choose not to use payment for submit my website. Since I normally take longer time to build the website and I prefer to the visitor to found my site when my site is ready for them. Well, at least it is worth their time.

7. Be patient

            We must accept the fact that it take some time for our site to be well known and get lots of visitors. It is not possible for is to expect the result after few days or week of submission. Therefore, please avoid repeated submission in the short period of time. This may make the search engine ban your site form their listing. My other site take about fine month to reach first thousand unique visitors. However, after that point is it increase easier.

  There are lots of website that provide free submission to search engine. Whenever your site is ready to be submit to search engine, you can choose one of this site to submit, just remember that most of them will submit to same search engine. Therefore, only choose one of them.
